Welcome

The Reggio Emilia Australia Information Exchange Inc (REAIE) is the reference group appointed by Reggio Children, Reggio Emilia, for facilitating dialogue and the exchange of information between the educators in the City of Reggio Emilia, Northern Italy and Australia. The purpose of the organisation is to advocate for the rights and potentials of children in Australian educational settings.

REAIE includes many network groups throughout Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific Basin.  REAIE publishes the Challenge journal and offers support to teachers, study tours to Reggio Emilia, conferences, exhibitions and special research projects.

Our Vision

REAIE has a vision for a just and civil society that values our shared humanity, fosters strong democratic communities, recognises the uniqueness of each individual and appreciates diversity.

We recognise that children are social beings from birth, full of curiosity and imagination and having the potential and desire to find connections and meaning in all they experience.  We acknowledge their ability to reflect upon and contribute to their own learning through their many languages of expression and communication.

We recognise that all children have a right to be heard, to be respected and to feel a sense of belonging to their family, school and community.  We see this as the foundation for becoming responsible citizens of the world.
